Usually, if I see someone having trouble rhythmically, it's important to get them out of their head. I believe that rhythm is an extension of the sense of touch. I'll stand behind this statement: thinking ain't dancing!Fad23https://www.blogger.com/profile/04664753834152760821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3237105709678035041.post-26842771209813160502010-02-25T19:15:24.921-08:002010-02-25T19:15:24.921-08:00Whenever I teach basic rhythm and such, the first ...Whenever I teach basic rhythm and such, the first thing I have everyone do is stand still and listen for downbeats. Change the song between each exercise, and make sure the songs are at different tempos.Orinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3237105709678035041.post-49049503229263744602010-02-25T14:32:45.143-08:002010-02-25T14:32:45.143-08:00I don't know that I have an answer as to why b...I don't know that I have an answer as to why but I find that some people can naturally sync up with one another more easily than others. When it's not so easy, I would think it's an issue of how much enery the lead and follow are respectively putting into the dance.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
